What is the brand and model of the non-ventilated recoil pad Marlin supplies on its M1895 XLR? I handled an XLR rifle yesterday. The pad was softer and more flexible than anything I've experienced before.
1. How effectively does it control recoil impact on shooting shoulder?
2. Upon shot being fired, does XLR's pad bounce off the shoulder, or does it stay in contact?

Shooting an 1895 isn't any fun at all unless you see stars and are shaking the cobwebs outta yer skull after a day at the range!!

Mine came with a Limbsaver made for the 1895 XLR. I ordered it with the rifle. Took the stock one off and the other went right on and matched up nice. It works great. I don't really mind recoil but after a shoulder surgery it helps a lot.

I believe they are Pachmayr Decelerator pads. I've installed them on a few rifles and really like them. They don't bounce off your shoulder if you hold them firmly.
