A friend has offered me this mold for $100. It's an 8 cavity, plain base, 175 gr RN with 3 lube grooves. Does anyone have any experience with this mold? He doesn't know anything about it (it was his Dad's), and I was wondering if it might be suitable for my Marlin 30-30 (microgroove). I would need a .311-.312" bullet, does anyone know if this mold tends to run that large?
Thanks,

Given the proper diameter (which I'm betting is .310" or so from the mould), this would be a great 30-30 bullet. The micro groove Marlins are fine with cast - as you mention, just need to have the right diameter - .001 or .002 over bore. Remember that softer alloys drop smaller diameter bullets while harder alloys drop larger diameters.
An eight cavity gang mould is a hard one to manage while casting - since this is your friend, ask him if you can try it out - to check the diameter of the bullets (but also to check function and feasiblilty when casting).
