Jamming Marlin 336

Does anyone have any advise on how to fix a Marlin 336 chambered for .35 Rem that wants to release more than one cartridge when feeding?

There's a rocker on the carrier that is spring loaded. When the lever is opened it raises the carrier and cartridge, but stops the next cartridge. If the spring in the rocker, or the rocker itself are broken, damaged, etc. It wont stop the next cartridge from entering the receiver. Check that spring and rocker, and also the lever if the others are OK.-Vall
