Range day

Post by rjohns94 »

Took a bag full of pistols and one rifle to the range today. With me were :

Colt .22lr pistol
S&W 60-3 pro .357
S&W 21 44 special
S&W 1917 repro .45 acp
USFA .45LC
Rohrbaugh 9mm

GSG-5 .22lr

First up was the S&W .45acp - shot at 15 yards, 25 yards, then 7 yards. What a blast to shoot, quick to reload, and wonderfully accurate, shooting 1.5 inch groups at 7 yards, and about 3 inches at 15, 4 inches at 25 yards. Most of the spread was because of the open sights and me not gaining the same sight picture. Overall , a great shoot.

Next up was the .44 special. Wow, a very kewl pistol. shot at 15 yards. VERY accurate and easy to shoot. However, I think I will offer this one up for sale or trade because I don't need to do the reloading for another caliber.

Next up was the USFA .45lc - shoots as well as the .44 special. Very nice firearm and I enjoy it. Gonna keep this one for now. Its my last .45 lc and I gotta keep one of those to go with my levers.

The .357 model 60 was next. I really like this pistol and it is a wonderful companion to the 92. I only shot it at 7 and 10 yards, keeping the handloads at 1.5 inches for 5 shots.

Went to the GSG next and shot it in at 25 yards. about 8 clips went down range

I decided to stop after that, leaving the colt and rohrbaugh un shot today. The main purpose was to decide between the three 40 somethings -

I will post the .44 special on the classified. I have in mind to trade for a .357 out of Smiths performance shops. Anyone out there got one for trade - either a 627, or 686 performance models 5, 51/2 either 7 or 8 shot? :D

Sounds like a good time. The weather is finely cooling here enough to enjoy it and now my allergies or so bad I can't hardly go outside. Guess I'll have to go get an allergy shot. Thanks for posting.

Mike,
Spending a day at the gunclub getting pounded by recoil is like going a few rounds with Mike Tyson. You just feel goooooooddddd. :D
I gotta think on that Model 21---trade or $$$. Hey, how about an even up trade for a Mossberg .22 bolt action rifle, or an RG .25 auto, or a single barrel 12 ga., or maybe a Jennings .32 auto. I may even have one of those .32 S&W Short "suicide specials" laying around. :D :D :D :D :D

Ah, come on, it was funny! :D ---------Sixgun

Jack,

I posted the 21 on the classified section. Keep trying with options. I have been tempted by your offers. tell me what you have in .357.

:D

I was looking at one of those GSGs today. Almost bought it but I think I'll do some more shopping around. Thought the price was kinda high.
Nifty .22 though just gonna have to have one!

Souds like a good day.
