I'd like to ask some kind souls out there who may have a 336RC and/or a 336A rifle to let me know the following measurements: A.) The length of the 336RC's forearm from the face of the receiver to the end of the forearm, and B.) the
length of the 336A's magazine tube, again from receiver face to the end of the tube. (I'm trying to figure out how Marlin arrived at the 30TK's configuration...) Thanks in advance for any and all help!

I measured both of my RC's (both 35 Rem) and the forearms measure 9 3/8" from the face of the receiver to the end. One is from 1968 and the other is a 90's production.

No, Ted, I'm not. I did buy one about a month ago, and I've been trying to figure out why the 30TK varies so much from the other "house-branded" 336's that Marlin has put out.TedH wrote:Are you trying to make your own 30TK?
Salvo and O.S.O.K,., thanks very much for taking the trouble to provide the measurements. The 30TK has a forearm that's
7-7/8" long, and a magazine tube that''s 12-1/2" long. I knew the forarm was shorter, but I thought perhaps they had used up some 336A magazine tubes that were lying around. I guess not. I really like the 30TK's look; with the fixed swivels, it could have been made for the export trade to some banana republic.
I really do wonder how Marlin/K-Mary came up with the specs on this one.

Just keep your eye out for one on gunbroker - they do come up for sale from time to time and don't really get a premium...

Yeah, there're unique as far as the forearm and magazine. I converted mine from barrel band to end cap and replaced the cheap hardwood with walnut. At that time I found out that there was no other Marlin made that used the same fore end. And, they never made the 30TK out of walnut, so I had to make my own.
