Marlin Marauder

Post by Andrew »

Saw one today. Never heard of it until today, I guess they are sort of rare. You should have heard the price.

I used to think that good guns would always be the price they were when I saw them and I'd be able to buy them someday at that price. Unfortunately, it isn't so. I now buy them when I can without too much quibbling.

PS I think the 336TS is the modern version. You could also take a Spikehorn and put a straight grip stock, trigger plate and lever loop on it.
Sincerely,

Hobie

Just for a price check reference. Today at the Louisville, Ky gun show I spotted a Marlin Marauder mixed in a display rack with several nice rifles including two long tang Model 71 Carbines. Talk about information overload..... Anyhow the Marauder which was in .35 Remington at about 85%, clean condition and was tagged at $645.00.

They are scarce, but I wouldn't pay that much for one.

A collector might...

I didn't have my glasses on and thought you posted "Martin Marauder" one of my favorite bombers of WWII even though I lost an Uncle in one... shot down over North Africa by a German Me-109 in 1943. :x

If you have the means and it is real, ser# prefix of W or Y I believe but marlinman Vall would know. $645.00 is a good price for a good one. The .35 Rem. was more rare, only about 33% the rest being .30-30. They were made for only a couple of years in the early 1960s. Be advised that fakes abound. 1886.

That $350 Marauder is a real sleeper, mklwhite - Since that's at least 60% below the normal selling (not asking) price for one of those in excellent shape.

Hmmmm, seller has no feedback and offers no pics. I'd do my homework on that one before bidding.

Says the auction is closed. If a REAL marauder is available at that price run do not walk and grab it. 1886.
