Try contacting Lee. They seem to be very accommodating. Neck sizing the .348 may not work too well, though.

Why a neck sizer die only? I just use the 2 die set from RCBS. I do have an RCBS neck expander die for lead bullets, but seldom use lead in the .348.

If the other guys do not offer one you could call Lee and see if they would make a Collet (sp?) die for you. They do offer many custom dies. 1886.

If you've got a full length sizing die, you've got a neck sizing die. Just follow the instructions that came with your die (or any reloading manual) to neck size instead of full size (all you do is set up for full length sizing, then back off until only the neck is being sized - its as easy as pie).

Don,
I found mine on ebay a few years ago, an RCBS. Somebody offered a regular 2-die FL set plus the extra neck sizer. Makes a lot of difference in reloading the .348, there's a lot less effort involved & the cases last a good deal longer when the brass doesn't get worked like it does in a FL die. I also need to trim neck-sized cases much less often than I used to with the FL sizer. I read an article a couple years ago that explained that most of the lengthening of cases occurs in the FL sizing. The author went through a very technical explanation of the reasoning, the gist of which was that the metal you "squeeze" back into place has nowhere else to go. The author said it was a common misconception that the expander button "drag" on the way out of the die was the culprit.

I never had any success with "backing off" a FL die.

You been casting .348 bullets with the Lyman moulds? I've wondered what kind of results you've seen.

Dabbling with the casting, just getting the hang of it. The 348 is frustrating the h out of me. I've got a load for my 358Win in my Savage 99, 1'' groups easy. 375 WinBB reloads into ragged holes goups of 10 at 100yards. 348Win shoot a good 2''group, next 5 shots a pattern, next shot right where the first goup was hitting, then next shot 6" high and to the right and so forth :? shots all over the place, changing loads isn't helping either. Recoil not the problem, the 358 recoils more (lighter rifle). I'm not giving up yet, but......

Sounds frustrating. I always had the best luck with IMR4064 with the jacketed bullets, but with the lighter cast bullet (350447) my best results were with IMR4198 as I remember.
