I actually had a guy come to my house campaigning for Obama last night.
I had just gotten home from a long day. Got the dogs fed, out and back in when I hear my dogs go nuts. The front door was open and there's this dude on my front porch in an old black concert t-shirt, long grey hair and a clip board visibly startled by three large dogs that were barely contained by the screen door ( i love that Grate Dane Bark!! ).
I was going to tell him that the Greatful Dead had long since passed through here when he told me he was with the Obama campaign.
All I could get out was "Yeah right" and started to laugh. I wish I'd been a little more articulate and told him what I thought of his candidate. With my 1886 over shoulder of course

This guy was no youth. Looked like a left over from the 60's and had to be in his late fifties.
Ordinarily I'm always up for a good debate but was so wiped out from a long day after several long days that all I could do was smile and laugh.
Had he not been so polite, smiled and went on his way things could have gone differently.
We get a lot of door to door people on our street. Far more than anywhere else I've lived for some reason and most go politely. Though about two years ago I thought I was going to get into a physical confrontation with a guy that wouldn't leave. I finally had to tell the guy to go away before he got hurt.
I was in no mood for his BS and he finally figured out the he was going to get a trip to the ER if he didn't go immediately.

These people are true fanatics. Almost like a religion.
My wife "dog sits" for a woman who goes out of state every weekend to canvas people for Obama.
She told my wife there are "Good" Americans, who will vote for the big O, and "Bad" Americans which I assume is everyone else. Apparently, the big O campaign is not as popular with the public as the polls say. Out of over two hundred canvas' on her last PA. swing,(Scranton), only EIGHT people claimed to be voting for O.
This woman said "our" only hope is that the BAD Americans are too stupid to remember to vote on election day.
So... make sure all you bad Americans can find your way to the polls on Nov. 5th, or is it the 3rd, or......
