OT - National Arms M98 Mauser

I'm currently stalking a commercial rifle built on a military M98 Mauser action. The rifle is stamped National Arms - Model Nato 60. I can't find anything about it on the web. Are any of you guys familiar with this rifle maker?

Couldn't find anything-There was some mention of a National Arms and Ammo Co from england but in referance to the mauser 88.May be a store brand?

Futher wild guessing National Arms and Ammunition Company Ltd became Biringham Metal and Munitions Company Ltd then perhaps Biringham small arms ltd ?Any markings?Proofs?

Where exactly on the gun is "NATO" stamped.....also..is it "60" or "62"???? And where is the number stamped??

Thanks guys. All of the stampings are on the top of the barrel, which is chambered in 270 Winchester. I think it was probably a "kitchen sink" company that found a bunch of M98 actions and cheap barrels, along with some Bishop stocks. This rifle is 100% sporting and the "Nato" stamping is pure marketing.

It seems like a solidly built rifle. I'll check the head space and rifling. It already has an after market wing safety installed, along with a good single stage trigger. If the rest checks out, I'll buy it. About the only thing that gives me pause, it that all of the original military markings have been polished off, so I can't identify the maker or date of manufacture. Contrary to popular belief, there were good M98 Mauser actions and bad ones as well.

Are you in Socal? There used to be a gunstore on Parthenia, just west of the 405, that sold milsurp stuff and I think they used that National Arms name.
