I picked up this 1929 Winchester Model 55 TD 30-30 this weekend at the Dallas gun show. It is an old re-blue but has the original finish on the wood. The guy told me spilled coke on the receiver had caused the original owner to get it re-blued. The bore is great. I hope to shoot it tomorrow. I would have liked to get one that was not re-blued but they are pretty high. Almost all the old Winchester levers were 2000.00 up to 60,000.00 this weekend. The average, with little finish, was around 3000.00. I put the Savage 99 TD in the photo because I would like to know the model? I think it is a 99G. The caliber is 250 Savage. Let me know if you know? Thanks!

Nice looking gun. I sold mine (original finish, but only 60% or so remaining) this past show for a whole lot less than a couple grand. :D Congrats!

Yep, It sure looks like it, to me.

The "EG" was a solid frame, the "K" was an engraved takedown, and the "B" & the "F" takedowns had a straight-grip stock.

My "B" takedown .300 Savage had the model name stamped/engraved on the front receiver ring.
