OT- Getting ready for IKE!

Post by rangerider7 »

Went out this evening and worked to tie down my deer blind and feeder for IKE! My son and the grand kids use it in deer season. I usually find a nice spot and see what shows up. I decided to dove hunt the last hour of the day. I got off three shots and got two birds, not bad for an old guy. Saw 5 Gobblers and a coyote. The alfa gobbler ran off the juvenile coyote. It was a sight to see. Also saw one doe, two rabbits. It was a fun evening. It's great to be outdoors!

Don't get me wrong we are not that close to the coast, but the wind and flooding is going to be bad. I feel for the Galveston and Houston people. I'm afraid Ike is going to go over the sea wall by quite a bit. I read the book on the 1900 flood that killed thousands and cut the island off from Houston. They have raised the entire town by 15 feet since then. They are much better prepared today but I think the damage is going to be bad. My prayers are with them.
