Another old "Cowboy" photo?

Hard to say, as usual, but I have read with my own eyes that fellows would, at the end of a drive, take their money, get a shower & shave, new duds, and get their picture taken. Here's a couple of things that suggest he might be the real deal.
1. He's not showing off his six-shooter. I'm guessing a greenhorn would be showing off his gun a bit more. He thinks his cigarette is cooler than his sixgun.
2. He's got ammo randomly stuck in his belt. A dude might have it all filled out or neatly arranged.
3. His boots are in good shape, but they do have that well-broken in look judging from the wrinkles across the front, so I figure he wears them a lot.
4. The pose, with a look of destiny, is a set-up, but I'm going to give the photographer the credit for thinking that one up.

I'll say the real deal, but I wouldn't even bet a coffee on it, let alone the farm.

Well, he does look a bit bowlegged.

There's a couple of items about his outfit that seem amatuerish... mostly it's his leather cuffs. While one side (left) they are with the buckles down, on the other (right) the buckles are on the back of his wrist with the long billets just out there hankerin' to get caught up in something. His chaps cuffs appear to be unequal lengths, with even the leggin's being a little longer on the left. Lastly, it's the hat. Just seems a little TOO.... oh what's the word... unstylish. Most cowboys I've known were mighty particular about the shape of the crown and brim, that looks like it taken outta the box or off the shelf and almost jammed down on his noggin!

Naw, I'd say this rube was the piano player in a saloon and rolled a drunk the night before!

But, now that POSE... now that gives him... something!

I reckon I'll stick with Kirk on this one. Those boots have been worn awhile. As far as the hat goes, he may have put it on his head and went from the dry goods store to the photographer's shop.

I figured his entire get-up had just been purchased less than an hour before, just before his trip to get his photo taken.

Well, I didn't want to mention that, but I thought the same thing all along. However, I thought I'd blame it on the artsie photographer.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Nope, he's a fake wannabe. His hands look to soft and smooth. Neither his hands nor his face give the impression of being outdoors very much. He doesn't have that rancher/farmer tan many of us have had. The quirt around his wrist is worn more like a bracelet than a working piece of equipment. Nope, looks staged like they do at the big rodeos and carnivals today.

Griff, I was thinking that maybe the cuff on the right wrist is turned around so the buckles/strap don't interfere with his sixgun.
