.30 Remington ammo needed.

Post by JerryB »

A friend of mine at church has a remington 141 in .30 Remington and would like to get some more ammo. There is not any to be had around here and he does not reload. He enjoyed hunting with it but is out of ammo now.

I saw some at a dealers made by Old Western Scrounger. Google this and maybe find a dealer near you. Realoading would be a good way to keep this old girl working. I think I have some 1st fired cases he is welcome to, course he would need die's and someone to reload. 30-30 component bullets work fine, at least they did in my Model 14.

Karl, sure thank you, I load 30-30. I reckon a set of dies would be cheaper than one box of ammo. I'll talk to him Wedneday nite at church and let you know. Back in the early 1960's I had a Model 14 in .25 Remington and had to order ammo from some place in Texas, real high even back then.

Just in case you did not know, 30-30 dies work excellent for the 30 Remington. That is what I used for years in an old 14. You just need the shellholder. And be careful when adjusting the sizer die so you don't push the shoulder back.-----------Sixgun

JerryB,
There are several boxes for sale on Gunbroker. A bit expensive though...starting bid of $65 per box. Here's one of them:

I believe that Buffalo Arms has .30 Rem ammo, too.
