Receiver sight for Savage 99?

Receiver sight for Savage 99?

My friend attended a gunshow yesterday and reported that he saw a Savage 99 with what appeared to be a Lyman receiver sight mounted on some sort of block on the tang. Anybody ever see anything like that, I cant come up with anything at all. He has an 1899 savage that he wants to put some sort of tang or receiver sight on. Thanks.

Thanks for that, Pete, his description was that it like a model 66 or 57 sight. Wish he had stopped and asked questions.
