Way OT....Good News...the perp has been caught...

Post by stew71 »

...Okay okay...he's the ALLEGED perp.....at any rate....

We had our garage broken into back in May and had a lot of fishing gear, tools, all of my archery gear, my range gear, some ammo, and some miscellaneous items stolen. Since then, we've settled with the insurance company and have replaced most of the items. Once the initial feelings of anger, violation, and downright lust for violent revenge subsided, we settled back into our routine and all has been well. The alarm system, side security doors and garage openers were upgraded and additional perimeter precautions taken. We always thanked the man upstairs that only items were taken and not a life.

So out of the blue this morning, I received a call from the local DA's office here in Sacramento informing me that they actually caught the slimy *** that burgled our place. He was caught with some stolen items and his prints were traced back to those picked up from the inside of one of my garage tool cabinets. Later this afternoon, I spoke to a detective and we have an appointment tomorrow to ID the scumbag. (What are the chances they'll let me see him with my .45 in hand...?? Or at least a Louisville Slugger??)

At this point, we don't know his name or his record, but if it goes to trial we'll get to know him very well. All we've been told is that he has several priors and that since we were home at the time, this is a felony strike. (Yeah yeah...we never heard the break-in. Both of us were suffering from allergies that night and were zonked out on meds. A nuke blast couldn't have woken us up!

Thanks to the very left-leaning mayor's office in this town, robbery and burglary has become a second-tier priority for the SPD. Can't blame the guys and gals in blue, this is all about the administration and local political hacks who run the place. We were very very VERY skeptical that anything would be done about "just another burglary" in the neighborhood. However, they actually came through for us. Not a bad way to start the day!!

As things progress, if anything of interest comes up, I'll pass it along.

Isn't that something, Gunslinger, the older *I* get, the MORE lenient I get   BUT I draw the line at a home (garage) invasion. I AM the guy HE wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley and I'd be begging to have the police let me have 60 seconds with him alone for a little..........talking to............

Glad to see the got the bad guy, Stew71!

Score one for the good guys. Be glad they even took the trouble to lift prints, and hopefully recover some of your property. Surprised he had it this long... must not a been a junky. It ALL would have been gone in a flash... or is that squirt?

If it goes to trial, keep your head, don't let yer anger come thru.

PC 459 First Degree(residential) is a 6 year felony it's a strike hope they don't offer the perp a plea to a lesser charge saw that way too often in my 37 years as a probation officer. We had a San Bernardino Superior Court Judge reduce the charges after listening to the perps tale of woe and release him, the idiot left court & burglarized the home of the releasing judge that same morning needless to say he was busted and returned to SB Co Jail, he didn't get anymore sympathy from the judges!

How did that happen? Did he follow the judge home? Seems like quite a coincidence.

A few years ago I had the opportunity to put some perps away who were terrorizing our parking garage. They would do $4,000 in damage to a car to steal a $200 stereo. They would jack up a car and steal all four wheels.

I caught them at it one afternoon and got their license number. Believe it or not, the cops caught up with them a half hour later. I picked them out of a lineup successfully (not an easy thing to do six months later) and that was that.

I hate to burst a bubble here but should he go to a Kalifornia Prison about the hardest thing he will do is his afternoon work out!His medical will be taken care of-before any one on the streets. He will hang out with all his dirt bag friends and generally be a pain whinning about his rights.Three meals and a cot and still a leech on the rear of society.Sorry but it is the truth of the matter.

Fellas, you have it wrong. He is a scumbag, since that isn't a crime we don't need to allege it. But he, also, happens to be an alleged thief.

Well we met with the detective, and it was as we thought. The punk is a 19 year scumbag member of a local gang called the Brodrick Boys that are based across the river over in West Sacramento. They're your typical local Hispanic gang....illegals, drug dealers, burglars, petty thieves, with the occasional rival gang hit thrown in for good measure. The detective told us that since this will be counting towards his 3 felony strikes, he'll be seeing at least 9 years for just our burglary. He has another pending over in West Sac that ought to put him behind bars for at least 25 years. He hasn't shown any willingness to snitch on his buddies so hopefully he'll be taking that long vacation soon.

Any anger we felt towards him has long passed. No sense in staying mad when all we really lost were inanimate objects that can be replaced. Can't go through life mad over stuff like that, ya know?? Besides, we got to upgrade with the insurance money! :)

That being said, what does make us a bit nervous is that our place is now known to a local gang to house firearms. The comforting thing is that they're kept in a safe anchored into solid concrete in an alarmed house with internal motion sensors. They'll have to be very determined if they really want to steal them.
