PRICE CHECK - Winny rifle model 1911 .22 cal

Anyone have any idea on value of a Winchester pump rifle model 1911 .22cal. Have an uncle that has one and wants to sell it. My father wants it, but doesn't know what to offer. I haven't seen it but he said it is in very good condition. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Winchester did not make a Model 1911. Are you sure it's not a Model 1906? What does it say on the barrel?

I called him again and he said that is says Winchester model 1911 .22cal. I have never seen one, the only Winchester 1911 I know of is a shotty. I have owned a couple of 1906s and I thought that was what he had, but he says it actually says 1911 on it!

The Winchester 1911 was a 12g, autoloading takedown, shotgun that was introduced in 1911and ended in 1925. They made several different grades...Basic, Fancy, Pidgeon, and Trap. They never made a 22cal Model 1911.

I checked Schwing's book on the Win .22 Pumps and somebody ain't readin' somethin' right. I'm betting that it is a 1906 as 1911 was the last patent date. Separated from the patent dates is the "- MOD. 1906 -" or "-MOD. 06-" or "-MODEL 06-" stamp. If that was somehow omitted well that might be something but not much. This version will accept shorts, longs and long rifles. Standard barrel length was 20" throughout production. Shorter is cut down (sometimes seen) and longer is a replacement (seldom seen). In excellent condition with no extras like the expert stock you're looking at $400-500 or so depending on the little vagaries of condition as it affects the buyers perception of condition.

He came up from Nashville this evening and you were exactly right. It is a 1911 patent model 06. Thanks for the info. Dad bought it at a decent price and he is VERY happy! Thanks again.
