American Hunters and Shooter Assoc.???/
Isn't this the group affiliated with Handgun Control, Inc.? Some lady in the local paper is trying to say that Obama is FOR everyones 2nd Admendment rights and the above supports gun rights. Need to set them straight.

Yes - American Hunters and Shooters Association is an anti-gun "sportsmen's" group. It even fools some not-too-interested gun owners who haven't paid enough attention to realize that the problem with the NRA isn't that they are too 'extreme' but rather than they too often don't stand on principle, but compromise instead. So these folks win over their city-liberal nanny-state friends by saying they are "all for sportsmen's rights" as if that somehow means they understand and endorse the Second Amendment, but they turn around and want to register guns or ban semiautomatics! ("You don't need an AK-47 to hunt deer") Obviously to say the Second Amendment applies to hunting or 'sporting' use of firearms but NOT to 'military-style' firearms misses the point entirely - the equivalent of saying the First Amendment endorses television sit-coms, but doesn't protect the authors of letters to the editor from arbitrary arrest if they criticize a crooked mayor or sheriff.
Obama's voting record is probably retrievable from http://gunowners.org, and if you do other searching on http://www.keepandbeararms.org or other sites, I'm sure you can get clarifying information. Even http://www.dillonprecision.com might have their current editorial on him up.
Here are a few specifics:
http://gunowners.org/pres08/obama.htm
http://gunowners.org/110srat.htm
Typing an Illinois zip-code into http://gunowners.org/cgv.htm shows that for many gun votes he's listed as "ineligible to vote" because he's been a senator only recently, so any votes before he took office he couldn't participate in. Kind of highlights his LACK of experience.
Obama is VERY anti-gun, and an elitist hypocrite. Nothing unusual in a politician, but sort of ironic that he markets to the teenie-boppers and Republo-phobes as being "for change" - yeah right!
