OT- Prayers For MoodyHoller.

Post by SharpsShooter »

As some of you may know Moodyholler was scheduled to have a revision of the shunt that was implanted after his stroke a couple years ago. The initial surgery was yesterday and all appeared to be ok until midnight last night. At that point he was placed on a ventilator and he had additional surgery at 2am this morning because there was bleeding on the brain. They had to take out the shunt and put in an intercranial tube to drain the blood. He is still on the vent and they're not sure how long. I am at work at present, but will try to update everyone more asap.

Moody has been a friend, hunting & shooting, gun swapping pal for well over 30 years and I know many of you think highly of him as well. He and his family need your prayers.

Thanks

SS

I am stunned to hear this. MoodyHoller has been good enough to help me with a peep sight for my Savage 24. He is a very nice guy to do business with.

Prayers up and God Bless him and his family.

Sorry for the delay gents. The last information I have is from late yesterday afternoon. MoodyHoller is off the ventilator, but still has the cranial drain in place. They are keeping him heavily sedated to keep him quiet and resting. There is still some bleeding occurring and they are keeping him immobile to keep blood pressure down to allow it to stop and allow healing to progress. I just tried to call, but there was no answer in the Neuro ICU waiting room. More when I get it.....

Hello All

I do apologize for the delay in updated information. It has been a bit of a roller-coaster of good and bad for MoodyHoller. The bleeding persists even yet and they have postponed surgery until that issue is under control. Doctors indicate that next week would be perhaps the earliest to replace the shunt, but that of course depends largely on the bleeding. It is not uncommon to see that situation continue for several weeks effectively preventing further surgery. He is still in Neuro ICU and likely will remain there for some time yet.

All for now. Sorry it is not better news.

Hello,

Finally some good news to pass along regarding MoodyHoller; the bleeding diminished almost overnight on Tuesday and in a surprising change of gears, the surgeon decided to move ahead with the shunt implantation. The surgery was performed yesterday and he is doing well. In fact, it has been indicated that he might be home in three days or thereabouts.

Good news! MoodyHoller may get to go home tomorrow...He was giving the nurses a fit today, wanting to go home  ....But first, he would "step down" this evening and possibly go home tomorrow afternoon or evening.

Thank you all for your prayers.
