OT First time on politics

Post by Mutt »

I was told by a hard line Dem. that Obama was born in Hawai before it became a state . And that he isn't supposed to hold the highest office . That yes like the calif gov , he could hold many other positions but not that the presidents.
the gent who told me this is 84 for years old and always voted and worked to help the Democrats party.
Wonder if there is any thing to this and has any offical has brought this up.
Could all be BS . ...............MUTT

Hawaii became a state in 1959 and Barack was born in 1961.
That which does not kill me has made a grave tactical error.

The real question was whether he was born in Hawaii or in Indonesia and only had the birth recorded in Hawaii later on. That's part of the basis for the lawsuit brought on by that Democratic lawyer (and Hillary supporter).
Well done is better than well said.

However if his mother was a US citizen and she processed him through the embassy for a US passport at the time and he declared his allegiance (might be another term) or affirmed his citizenship at age 18 he is a citizen. That's the deal with my kids, both born to a foreign national (wife) and myself while overseas (Seoul, ROK).

I personally think this is a non-issue. He has so many other issues that this could be a red herring to distract us from those things. I.e. he was Muslim until he was convinced to be Christian was better for him politically, he's a part of the Daley Chicago political machine, his whole family and his mentors are and have been communist/socialists, etc...
Sincerely,

Hobie

Unless she was under 18 at the time of birth, then the citizenship follows the parent of majority.

But it's the lat two that bothere me the most. Those are provable.
