Charles Daly "Little Sharps"

Anybody get a chance to play with one? I'd never heard of it until I read an article on one in .38-55 in the latest Guns of the Old West. Article said it was actually under 6lbs but their own specs put it at 7½lbs. Either way, it sounds like a great little rifle with a full 26" barrel and comes with a tang sight. It'd be the hot ticket for somebody that likes the Sharps 1874 but doesn't wanna tote around 12lbs of steel to hunt with one. Looks like they're offering it in a bunch of useful calibers but the .38-55 interests me the most.

Someone here has one - in a different caliber. I remember reading about it earlier this year, but darn if I can remember who it was...

They really liked their gun though!!!

I handled one, 45 Colt. Couldn't get my finger into the guard in front of the trigger. The trigger and guard are scaled down, too. Other than that, it was nice.

Maybe if I was about 5'2" and 105 lbs.

That seemed to be about the only complaint in the article too. I'd be afraid to order one without handling first.

The one I am thinking about was a .22 caliber, but an odd one - centerfire, and really long. Looked mighty cool and from the range report, shot very well!

Maybe a .22Hornet or .218Bee? Looks like they offer both. I'd like to see it in .32H&R, .327Fed or .32-20. If it really is under six pounds it would be a much more affordable alternative to an old British rook rifle. Thank you Ross Seyfried for giving me that itch that still needs scratchin'.

If it was a long centerfire .22, perhaps it was chambered for .22-15-60 Stevens or possibly .22 WCF.
