Politics- Indication of a non event???

I was just watching the news a saw where a man was arrested in Denver when he was checking into the same hotel where Nancy Pelosi was staying. It seems he had some firearms with him. She in in town for the Democratic National Convention. I'm thinking that the convention it's self must be a non event if there was a room available.
I remember when my wife and I got married, we came to Tampa from WV and couldn't find a hotel room in Tampa anywhere because there was a Billy Graham crusade in town. Here's the Democratic National Convention, you'd think they have every room in town rented out between the delegates and the people that are there to cover the event.
