OT: An It Was Never So True Quote

"There are so many rules and laws, curbstones and sidewalks, with policemen to handle violence, that folks have been protected for so long, they're no longer even consious of it. The result is that violence is no longer real for them." - Louis L'Amour

My $0.02 - A poignant comment, and he wasn't even exposed to the video game craze.

The book The Book of Positive Quotations has a bunch of quotes from Louis L'Amour. I would have loved to have met the man. I agree with the majority of what he had to say. Amazing how well educated a man could be when he educated himself with life and reading from the best books he could find.

Some of my favorite bedtime reading is Louis L'Amour - somehow it gets you back to the basics - an understanding of the essence of life. Kind of like leverguns!

For those who like historically accurate fiction, ALSO look up some of James Thom's books.

Louis Lamour and the Sackett's are great reading. If I ain't mistaken Tell Sackett was his only character to ever have his woman / wife had something bad done to her. Ang was killed by that no good cattle rancher ol what's his name.
