the rest of the story:
i will try and post pictures of the entire rifle later. this Henry is a Allen distributed rifle from 1984, not sure who did the engraving (Uberti ???), cal. 44-40; like the 1873 engraved Uberti i got from the same guy, this one does not have a firing pin installed (yet). i do expect to shoot this one and it will probably be the last time the brass is so 'clean', i will let age naturally.

Thats a really nice rifle...
Just watched Last Stand at Saber River
It featured Henrys...Sellecks was engraved
but i dont think it was the same as yours...
Dang.... thats nice!

Now I want one...

How'd you get the brass so shiny? My Henry didn't look that good when it was NIB!

That's real nice.

I was able to handle an original, also factory engraved, at our gun show's firearm check-in table. I asked what he was going to ask for it and he said, "in the 40's". $40,000 for piece of historical artwork. :shock: I just smiled and wished him luck.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

Reputedly weak action, or not - I'd much rather own that beauty, than any new Henry Big Boy, no matter how much the Big Boy was gussied up ! :P :P :P

WOW! I'm ashamed of the rest of you guys, how dare you gush over that rifle? Cain't ya'll see that the

DERN THING IS ALL SCRATCHED UP!

But... since I'm the helpful type, I'll take it off yer hands and remove all those scratches, and return it to ya. (Honest... well... my heirs will, I'm make sure to put a codicil in my will!)
