Rear sight on Rossi

I dont like the rear sights on my Rossi's. It is a stamped metal that just looks cheap. Are there any replacements for these? Not really looking for a tang sight just something to replace the factory sight. thanks for any help.

At one time Marbles made a rear sight especially for the wider dovetail on the Rossis. I don't think they make them anymore.
You might check with our own NateKiowaJones; http://www.stevesgunz.com/ . He's the specialist on them things.

Nate replaced my rear site wth a flip-up semi-buckhorn. Don't know the make. Realy hady as I can (do) fold it down while using the Williams, but have it sighted in for close-range non-peep work.

Hi Steve,
If it's an older Interarms gun we got a bit of a problem. Marbles doesn't make a replacement for those anymore. If it's one of the current EMF or LSI's it may have a dovetail close enough to work with standard 3/8 sights. But, like the old Interarms some are too wide. The 3/8's just falls through.

For those I'm building this one on the old site base when I can get the parts.

On my Marlins (and if the dovetail width is the same you could no doubt do it with the Rossi) I often buy the replacement fold-down sight listed at MidwayUSA for the Ruger Ranch Rifle - I like it because it is compact, and a "peep" - you could get the same sight in a conventional notch as well.

I initially used the sight as a "backup" sight for see-through rings, but got to liking it as a primary sight - not as fragile as a "tang" sight, which I usually keep folded down if in brush, defeating the fast-aquisition. Very accurate if you count ringing the 6" gong at 100 yards consistently as "accurate."

Favorite "peep" is the Williams FP or 5D, but harder to add scope if you want sometimes a scope.
