Way OT--Computer Purchase

Our grown son wants a new, fancy Mac, which Mom and I want to give him, which today costs $2700. We could give it to him for Christmas or wait for his February birthday. Do Mac prices go down after Christmas? Is the amount significant?

I heard that CompUSA is going out of buisness and is having a big sale before Christmas. I think they carry Mac's. Might give them a try.

I don't know if the Mac prices will come down after the holiday. I think they only come down as higher/new models are released. I TRY not to keep up on the pricing because I don't need to be tempted.

I bought mine in... 2003? Haven't regretted it for one second.

BTW.. where are you looking at them? When I bought mine I got it from Mac Mall http://www.macmall.com or Mac Warehouse (don't remember now). Saved a couple bucks, not too much but they often throw things in as extras.
