what is it?

Post by mescalero1 »

Just got back from N.M.
Uncle has a Winchester he says is a 66 Centenial.
It looks like an 1894, with a brass? reciever, long octagon barrel, 30-30 caliber.
Anybody know about these?

$95 in 1966 was probably a heck of alot of money - somehow I remember my father telling me he bought his (now mine) Winchester 88 back then for over $100. This is a pre-64 mod.88 and a 5 digit ser.#

$95 in '66 @ the PX on base sounds about right; In '72 my .44RemMag Mdl 94 was $90 thru my Ship's Store. Fun part was gettin' ammo while deployed during our lil'"police action" in SEA.

That's about right for 1966, when the MSRP was $125, IIRC.
