Winchester 94s from 43-48 idea..

Post by morgan in nm »

Because of the missing records for these years, it seems like somebody could do a registry(I know guns and registry dont mix) of serial numbers with barrel dates on original barrels and come up with a list of serial number breaks for those missing years. A guy wouldn't even have to use the complete serial number to give a close estimate of DOM.

OK, now lets have the flames...

Collectors collect such info all the time. One only needs to know about the gun and nothing about the owner. Serial number, certain features, and barrel date (if present), Madis date, polishing room date and then see what sort of correlation comes out. So long as the owner is not connected to the firearm there is no "registration".

I know of such for 6 or 7 different firearms models.
Sincerely,

Hobie

I have 2 flatbands...let me know were the registry will be... and I will send my numbers.

From what I read flatbands were built from the parts bin stock up to the early 50's

I would do it myself but I am too iliterate when it comes to a computer. But if someone wants to start such a thread, I have 4 or 5 that fall between those years.
