A Lawn Chair......

Post by Blaine »

Great afternoon..Sat in that lawnchair, all offhand shooting.....We had various spinners and gongs of different sizes set up from 25 to 125 yards. All I brought was my Single Six and my JFrame 317 AirLite. Prolly got 500 shots in between the two of them. Re-Learned some trigger control I'd forgotten and at the end of the day, the 25 yard spinners were a certainity and the fifty yard spinner, a gopher sized thing, was being hit very regularly....I'm a happy man this evening......(I even got a few hits at the fifty yard gopher with the snubby :D :D )

Did the same thing with my son, plus sighted in our .44's for deer season. It's really fun after sighting in a long or short gun to then stand and shoot the 8" gong at 100 yards (rifle) or 50 yards (piatol) offhand and hit the durn thing!

Sounds like a ton of fun! After a week at the beach, I spent Sunday "catching up". I think the darn weeds here have some sort of basic intelligence - they wait for me to go away and make a mass attack!

I find the lawn chair off hand position preferable to off hand standing...with pistols or rifles ..however I find my swing impared with the shotgun..

That's great, Blaine, I'm jealous. Last time I've been shooting was when my boy came home from the AF for Mother's Day. Just too dry and dangerous. Fact is, the recent Telegraph Fire we just had up here was started by some out-of-town yahoos target shooting. According to an S.O. buddy, these guys were shooting at rocks in the tall dry grass. "Gee! Where did all this fire come from???" :o

It's real dry here, too......It was real rocky at the pit, but no grass where we were shooting at.....I'll keep that in mind in future.....Thanks!!

Sounds like you just need a little more practice. 8)
