Bullet vs. primer

I have been reloading for my Marlin 1894C (.357) some time now using cast bullet with no problems other than leading. I bought some Rem. JSP bullets (158 grains) and I put the end of the bullet up to the primer pocket and found that the bullet tip is slightly smaller than pocket. That means that the bullet is resting on the primer in the magazine tube. Is this something to be concerned about or am I just being paraniod. I read customer reports at Midway on how well these bullets work in somebodys lever gun and am wondering if they only load 2 rounds at a time.

If the Remington JSP is a lead exposed flat tip, I would not worry about it.

Nothing to worry about and being concerned isn't being paranoid. Although a bit of paranoia doesn't hurt.

I am not a levergun or reloading expert but I notice that the flat tip of factory ammo is smaller than the primer so it isn't like there's no contact or the primer is protected completely from contact with bullet behind it. But what about round nose? Or are the cast rounds you're loading LRNFP?

My concern is that after I use my bullet seating die , the dia. of the bullet tip is even smaller. I realize that the tip is lead, but I don't know what type of force is required to set off a primer. I guess I am just afraid of pulling the trigger and have ten rounds go off.
