Marlin 336A ejection problem.

Post by WRDSMTH »

My Marlin 336A either fails to eject or ejects the empty case weakly. Normally it falls back down in the action on top of the carrier. I tried a new ejector spring to no avail. Upon extraction, It appears that the case is falling down into the action before it even gets to the ejector.Could a weak extractor be the problem? Any suggestions?

Thanks, Will try a new extractor. Funny thing though, The extractor seems to grip the case well and pull it most of the way to the rear. The case then just seems to fall out from under the extractor before it reaches the ejector.
Since this is an old gun (50's), the extractor must have lost some of it's tension.
