A friend of mine has a 32-40 that he recently purchased and has spent a lot of elbow grease trying to clean up the barrel nd patches are still coming out dirty.
He is thinking of trying the Tubbs bullets to help things along. Any opinions or educated guesses?
I wonder if he might not be as well off in the long run to use a electrolytic bore cleaner.

Re: Tubbs coated bullets
I use the outers foul out to clean out the lead, and would never be without it. It also works well on copper.
If you have copper fouling, plain old hoppes 9 works well. Dont work too hard at trying to clean the bore, just keep swabing the bore and let it sit for 3 or four hours. Run a patch through it, and repeat as required. A lot of people think they can clean a fouled barrel in 20min or 1 hour by scrubbing and brute force, and that will not usually work. The hoppes will remove an amazing amount of build up.
If lead is the problem, use the outers system.
On the Tubbs bullets...the ones I know about are the lapping bullets.
If these are what you are refering to, then they wont help in cleaning. You need a clean barrel before you use the tubbs.
