A Great Day For Plinking

Post by jdad »

Mid 70's, partly cloudy, low humidity, 5 mph wind, and the silhouette range all to myself. :D

I decided to leave the rimfires at home and bring out some centerfires: 36A Deluxe (30-30), 1893 Deluxe Takedown (30-30), and my 1894CL (32-20). I was too lazy to set up the 150m Turkeys and 200m Rams, so I just painted the swingers. I shot for about 2 hours and never had another shooter or range officer stop by and didn't even see a yellow jacket.

It was just one of those great days!

While not as nice as your weather as we hit nearly 100 today and about 70% humidity, I did take a family friend and here to kids out to shoot 22's. We took out 7 22s in rifle and pistol form and dumped 3000 rnds of 22 today. Amazing how fast the kids could power through the stuff when I spent the time stuffing mags and keeping them safe. It was a good time for all.

I'm very fortunate to live within 6 miles of the largest (240 acres) private club, in the Pacific Northwest. The Black Powder/Silhouette range is usually empty except for matches.
