Neat!!

Is it just me, or does the image look reversed? The fellow on the right appears to have his loading port showing on the wrong side of the rifle.

Yep - as was often the case with these old photos - the picture is indeed reversed. Think of the famous (or imfamous) picture of Billy the Kid.

Cool photo!!! 8)

Yeah, it looks flipped. In addition to the ejection port on the one rifle, check out on which side their shirts button. Either that, or they're wearing ladies blouses. :D

What percent of the pictures like this do you think were just guys getting photos taken with 'prop' guns, vs. real gunowners...? I'm sure lots were real folks in real environments, but sometimes, particularly if there is just one person in the photo, and they look too 'dressed up' I wonder if they are just in a photo studio of the day with a rugged looking 'guy' prop. The reason I ask is that lots of those kinds have the same background for several person's individual photos; I know photography was harder in the field than today, but I still feel the photos outside or of larger groups seem more genuine.
