Way OT but Spiritual

Post by Rusty »

The other day my son and I were driving home from town after having run some errands. he's 19 now and getting to that point in life where he is trying to start to understand the opposite sex. He was having a hard time understanding why mom had made certain decisions she has made of late. They weren't bad decisions, he just couldn't understand her reasoning.
I told him, son men spend their entire lives trying to understand why women think the way they do. Hundreds if not thousands of books have been written on the subject. In fact the most recent one that has quite a large following is called Men are From Mars, Women are from Venus," I told him this guy has made a whole career of writing several books along these lines. I told him men and women are just different and they think different and no one knows why. He looked back at me and said I know why. I was pretty dumbfounded, I said you do? I thought this was going to be one of those pull the leg moments. He said sure. They're made of different stuff... I said different stuff? He said sure, men are made from dust. Women are made from bone. After he said what it I realized just how right he is. I've been in church over 40 years and I've never heard a preacher preach that from the pulpit.

I think there's more to this than meets the eye.

You bet. We weren't designed to be the same nor were we meant to be interchangeable. The Man and Woman were made in a very specific relationship that is too far into complexity to wrap our tiny little brains around. So very well balanced and productive in society that it makes perfect sense that the combination was made by an intelligent, to put it mildly, Creator that had nothing but our best interests in mind. :D And it also goes to reason that when we stray from the original plan for our own selfish ignorance, we end up with very less than desirable results. To quote Jesse Taylor " I didn't make the rules, I just live by them".

Rusty, it sounds like that boy has been doing more than just reading his old AV1611.He knows what II Timothy 2:15 means also.I know you are proud of him. have you told your wife yet?
JerryB II Corinthians 3:17, Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

But, that's now considered "hate speech". If you don't embrace the homosexual movement, their "right" to marry, and that men and women are completely interchangeable - and that men are not needed - you are a bigot. Or, so I have been called repeatedly...

Doesn't matter... I'll go to my grave believing that God made men and women different and that marriage is the union of the two, and not any other combination. And that kids have the best chance in life when raised by a mother and a father in the same household.

Yes Jerry, I told the missus. She was as amazed as I was. IMHO the thinking is very profound and there's a lot more there that will really require careful meditation to understand fully. It sure does shed a lot of light though. And from a 19 year old.

Jay I make no attempt to be politically correct. I never claim to be. Yep I'm a bigot.

Jesus Christ was the most narrow minded person who ever walked the face of the earth. He said "I am way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6

And God went on to say: “It is not good for the man to continue by himself. I am going to make a helper for him, as a complement of him.
Hence God had a deep sleep fall upon the man and, while he was sleeping, he took one of his ribs and then closed up the flesh over its place. And God proceeded to build the rib that he had taken from the man into a woman and to bring her to the man.

Then the man said:
“This is at last bone of my bones
And flesh of my flesh.
This one will be called Woman,
Because from man this one was taken.”

Genesis 1:18,21-23

Man was not complete without a woman. When my mother passed away my father felt no longer complete.
Women are really a blessing from God, and should be treated as such. I don't know where I'd be without the support of my Vandi.

...and God made woman from man's rib. Not from his foot to be trodden on. Not from his spine to follow behind. But from his rib to walk side by side with him as a help mate.
