Stopped at my rifle range today to wring Ugly Duck out on a couple of boxes of 30-30 ammo I had on hand. I had a box of 150gr Winchester, and a box of 170gr Premium Shock. First up were the 150grain bullets. I had put some shots down range the day I got the rifle but I knew that the sights were not set. I adjusted the elevation of the williams receiver sight a bit and put 5 rounds down range. All high some 10 inches at 50 yards. Oops, adjustment of sight in the wrong direction. "come on Johnson, get your head out of your butt". Take out all that elevation and some more, shoot 4 more shots: results are shown below in first picture.
I wanted to put in some more elevation, made sure I was going in the right direction, moved the sight up half of what I took out and shot one shot, the shot hitting high about 5 inches. Took out some more elevation and shot three times: results are in this picture:
need to move the peep a bit to the right and I should be where I want it to be. Ugly Duck is going to due just fine I think.
