Hobie - Collar Buttons

Post by 45Jack »

Hobie,
Seems I recall a while back you were playing with .45-70 and "collar button" bullets.
How did that work out?
I may want to try some really light .45-70 loads to get some young members of the family hooked on shooting...

The recommended and "standard" load is 9 gr. Unique under the bullets lubed (twice) with Lee liquid Alox. Worked ok. Not outstanding, not terrible. Maybe my standards are too high. I haven't had the opportunity to do any more work with it.
Sincerely,

Hobie

Sorry I couldn't give you more. I bought mine (rather than a $160+ mold) from Mt. Baldy bullets.
Sincerely,

Hobie
