Where can I obtain replacement laminated birch, walnut, or maple buttstock and foreend for current Marlin M1895 rifles? I seek a stock shape identical with the current pistol grip 1895s.
I am aware I can buy Marlin-manufactured laminated birch stock. I loathe the color and Marlin will not make the stock of another color. I seek a dark brown/walnut/mahogany color rather than gray. Were I satisfied with birch, Rutland makes stock blanks in a satisfactory color. This does not solve the problem. Stock blank is not a stock.

Naphtali,
I don't know where to go to get stocks, so I can't help there.
But I have a question about the grey stocks Marlin sells. Would it not be possible to strip the finish off the Marlin wood and refinish it to the color you want? It's just a thought.

Laminated hardwood stocks are made by pressure dyeing each lamination, then stacking the laminations with adhesive between each. The assembly is then cured under pressure. Coloring is throughout the wood. While I could apply some sort of surface finish, this is not the way to go.
Were laminated birch the solution, the color that appeals to me is ROSEWOOD. My alternate is BROWN/BROWN. These solid color schemes are available as blanks from several vendors. Probably all are Rutland Stratabond. Getting the wood is not really the problem, though. Richards, for example, does not offer any two-piece stock work. But stock blanks, yes.
I want to avoid have the stock custom built. Cost is a major factor. Since standard Marlin dimensions are satisfactory, a standard replacement stock would be a solution -- but, of course, Marlin does no non-standard work. I offered to supply the blank and let them charge me full price, the difference between theirs and mine being color -- that's it. Unh-Unh. Nope.
An option I haven't strongly considered is to identify a serious hobbyist to do the job. The problem with that is I'm getting a pig in a poke.
