Serial # 2794xx Worked a trade deal for this one. It will be shipped to Doug Turnbull to have it properly CC and pony restored but just thought I would show you the new acquistion. Seeing some of the Bisley frames you guys have, and having had a pair go through my hands, I decided to settle up on a 1rst gen colt bisley in one of my new favorite calibers, the .45LC. Once Doug is done with it, I'm thinking I will have real nice carry holster made by simply rugged and stoke it with Elmers favorite .45 load for carry. It has a 4 3/4" barrel in perfect conditon.

thanks but it looks like it was redone already and it does not have the original cc, and the pony logo was faded in the redo. I just thought it would be nice to kinda restore it and then enjoy it. This one won't pass through my hands till they take my cold dead fingers off it. VBG

Mike,
Just one tiny word of caution. She looks good now and before you spend the big bucks to have it done by Doug, go shoot it and see how it shoots. If its a dog, you will not be happy with it. Many of the early first gens have tolerences that will only hit a can at 10 yards.
Another thing that will bring happiness is for you to go to a show and buy a set of pre-war Colt grips just for the nickel-silver medallions and insert those babies in those stags.
This way after shooting it and THEN spending the bucks, you will be one happy dude when it comes back all freshened up. You might even hold on to it for 6 months before selling it -------------Sixgun
Your recommendations are well founded. I happen to have a set of those medallions in my hands at this very moment. Saved them from when I was going to put them in the elephant ivory grips I did for the third gen .44. You are right about the possibility of them shooting like dogs. I sure hope that is not the case. Not sure what the wait time is for Doug, won't be too long by what I was spoken over the phone.
