Why are you suprised at this? It's almost required of them. After all, Enviornmentalisim is really a religion too (Gaianisim) so it makes total sense that they would consider our political position to be a Religious one...
Of course, I'm all for it. It means I get to use the 1st amendment and the "Seperation of Church and State" to boslter my 2nd Amendment/RKBA position.

"In typical Religious Left style... the “God Not Guns” coalition prefers to blame inanimate objects rather the corruptions of the human heart. The Religious Left typically locates salvation in legislation, not God. And its secularized salvation inevitably demands the expansion of state power at the expense of the individual."
Indeed.
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.
History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.
These folks live in the socialist Ivory tower. They live in safety and ease because others have laid down their safety and lives to stop evil from reaching them, but they will never see this. I am speechless anymore when I encounter these folks(just about form a majority in my county now from what I can tell), and generally don't waste my time arguing with them. The author is spot on in his last paragraph.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
Stupidism is a religion,
and its adherents are people who are stupid enough to believe anything

FWIW, "Seperation of Church and State" is not in the Constitution. It was stated in a letter that Ben Franklin was writing to paper I believe.
Correction: Thomas Jefferson wrote about a "wall of separation between church and state". Which holds to the First Amendment.
U.S. Constitution - Amendment 1
Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Long as you understand who is who and what is what. You can't stop them from being who they are and doing what they do. But most of the country is on the side of the clear meaning of the second amendment as an individual right.
And faith in an organized group to worship the almighty is not bad. But many things can masquerade under that banner. Righteousness according to the Bible includes who you worship as God - there will according to some of our beliefs be a reckoning on that issue.
