Finally got my fallow deer hide back

Post by 2ndovc »

I got a call from the taxidermist yesterday that the hide from the fallow deer I got up at 86er's place in November was done.

Got it home and thought it looked good enough for some pictures!

My Marlin LTD-III that I shot it with and my Model 21 that usually goes along.

Flip it over and you can see the perfect .458 holes going in one side and out the other.
Shot her through the lungs at about 70 yds. She stood for about 30 seconds and went down with out taking a step.

The sling came from www.octobercountry.com , was pretty cheap too.

Tycer,

Don't know what I'm going to do with the hide. Just thought it was to pretty to toss out.

For now it's gonna be background for gun photos :D .

They did once. Had to back track 1/2 mile to find them :D You would think something that big would make some noise hitting the ground.
Tightened up the laces and hasn't happend since.
