Help. . . . .. Marlin/Levergun Experts

Post by Meeteetse »

I have a Marlin 1894 Cowboy with the 24" bbl in .44 mag and I enjoy the gun very much. I am about to buy a 1895 (similar gun) in .45-70. I like the style and especially the barrel length very much of both these guns. I was wondering if Marlin ever produced a similar gun ( 1894-95 Cowboy) in 30/30? If they did, when and has anyone ever seen one. I would really like to get my hands on one.

Thanks in advance for any information.
Dave

You can occasionally find a 30-30 Cowboy on the internet auction sites. They will bring a premium price too.

They made the 336CB in 30-30 and 38-55 for a few years !

They discontinued the 30-30 first and then about 3 or 4 years later stopped production of the 38-55 !

The 336CB in 38-55 was the first rifle I ever killed a deer using home cast bullets and iron sights ! Later that same year I did the same with my 336CB in 30-30 and my 1895CB ! That was 2002

At the moment expect to pay about $700-800 for a decent USED rifle !

I would hate to think what they may be wanting for one that is still NIB :(

I dont know if they have any barrels, but if they do Marlin will turn a regular 336 into a CB for around $300.
