When I was a kid, the prototypic Democrat was JFK - a 'classical liberal'. The 'deep state' knocked him off.
Even the Clintons, though crooked, were politically what would now be called 'moderate conservatives'.
But once Obama, then Biden, then Harris, and almost Walz, got involved, the Dems went off the rails.
This Democrat state senate candidate (from Pennsylvania too - not California...) seems to fit right in with the Democrats of today:

And they say Conservatives are the mean ones.
