Tweaking Bianchi's X-15 shoulder holster?
Didn't want to step on Lastmohecken's thread about shoulder carry. I just bought an X-15 Large from an eBay seller in Idaho to carry my .41 Blackhawk 6 1/2 and the leather is in very nice shape, but the stretchy spandex/elastic retaining strap looks like it could fail if stressed too much. Anyone replace this with something else that might also be a bit more comfortable?

I replaced mine about 20 years ago with a factory one. It's still doing OK.

I have been watching those X-15's on ebay also. I can kind of tell that some are pretty old and will probably require a new harness. Also, you have to look closely, because there are several on there, selling just the harness, without the holster. But that might be a good thing, as you can purchase a brand new harness, to fit your current holster.
I have been wanting to try one, but I am a little bit confused about what holster to buy and I would need an x-large, probably 2X large harness, maybe even 3x size if they even make that.

Bill, now that you have an X-15 holster sized Large, what range of handguns do you think it will fit?Bill in Oregon wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2026 9:00 am Didn't want to step on Lastmohecken's thread about shoulder carry. The X-15 will hold a 7 1/2-inch Super Blackhawk along with the regular Blackhawks and I see guys carrying their Smith Model 29s in this holster. I looked at several X-15s on eBay and then stumbled on this one for about $35 shipped. Very pleased.

Watch for slippage where the harness straps thread into the holster body. I’m probably going to get mine back where I want it and put a couple stitches in it

I got mine adjusted where I wanted it and then doubled the straps back through the loop. They have not come loose in more than 30 years.

I carried my 7 1/2" Freedom Arms 454 as well as my 7 1/2" Blackhawk and my 6 1/2" Ruger 41 Magnum. Those size guns work just fine.Bill in Oregon wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2026 11:31 am The X-15 will hold a 7 1/2-inch Super Blackhawk along with the regular Blackhawks and I see guys carrying their Smith Model 29s in this holster. Sounds like I need to try a medium holster then, as usually carry 4.75 to 5.5" guns or a 4 or 5 inch 29.JimT wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2026 3:00 pmI carried my 7 1/2" Freedom Arms 454 as well as my 7 1/2" Blackhawk and my 6 1/2" Ruger 41 Magnum. Silly thought, but since it's still in production, why not give Bianchi a call?
