If only!
I was bored today and began wondering….if ever I could have the best lever action would be! I think about early Winnys in 44-40… 30-30….. 1896 4570/50-90……if your like me no one rifle would suffice…I think about big 50, 30-30 and 44-40 would!…….just a thought!
If you ever get to thinking that you’re a person of some influence, try ordering someone else’s dog around!

It's very simple, ONE of each. That way you can shoot which ever fits your mood that day!

.
My most-often-used one is my Marlin 1894 CST that I've 'modernized' so it is weatherproof and useable in the night (we have livestock to protect).
My hunting leverguns are all 44 Mag
- Marlin 1894 SS with Williams FP (or Spitfire 3x) for daytime hunting
- Ruger 96/44 with 3-9x scope for dawn or dim-light hunting
- Ruger 77/44 ('side lever') with NEGS aperture sight for rainy-weather hunting
My favorite 'nostalgic' and target levergun is my Marlin 1893 CS in 32-20
My favorite 'big critter' levergun is my BHA 89 in 500 S&W, and
My favorite 'show newbies how to shoot' levergun is my Ruger 96/22 with integrally suppressed barrel and red-dot sight.
But.....that's leaving out the 30-30 and 35 Remington, which are kind of 'must-have' leverguns, right...???
I suppose if I were dumped into some survival-world situation I'd just keep the 500 S&W, 357 Mag, and 22 LR - between the three, they could cover everytning.

Re: If only!
I'm in the process of "thinning the herd" by passing along to kids/grandkids anything out of my gun safes that they want. At which point I have come to realize that the Winchester m92 25/20 and Marlin 336A 30/30 -- those two they will have to wait for me to go over the divide before they get to decide who gets 'em.
And I guess the Ruger GP100 357 and Redhawk 44 mag revolvers are also off the table until a later date. I might have thought the Browning Challenger 22 pistol was there also but the son expressed real fondness for it and I sent it home with him a couple days ago.
