A neat greeting card from a historical celebrity and dated 1918? That is way cool.
Thanks for the Greeting. I hope all have a happy and joyous Christmas and holiday times.

Thanks for sharing that, Blaine - looks like a representation of good-old-basic and REAL Christmas.
If I have one more person (always a female) ask me "...are you ready for Christmas...?" I think I'm gonna scream.
"Ready" for Christmas to me, means simply do I have a couple days off, and am I mentally ready to relax and focus on life and family, and be thankful that I live in an environment where we have the luxury to try to understand goodness, and be good, and kind to one another. Have our close friends and family gotten some kind of time to visit and be together meaningfully set up and coordinated...?
But to every single one of these women who ask, "ready" means have they gotten all the fancy presents to give everyone in their circle, in many cases running up credit card bills to the extreme, and despite often not being able to pay their serious bills like mortgage, rent, utilities, car insurance, or even health-care bills they owe me. I guess to many folks Christmas is just one big Gift Exchange. Gotta get the little toddlers $500 of plastic toys they will cast aside even faster than they break.
Yeah, we do some gifts, mostly to the little ones, but usually books or simple wooden toys that allow imagination, versus electronic baby-sitter type toys.
We try to convey even to the little ones that Christmas, regardless of one's religious faith or lack thereof, is a time when we should get together as a Family, and celebrate Goodness - not consumerism.
Yeah, I'm always "ready" for Christmas, but never ready to understand how shallow so many people's interpretation of Christmas is...

Merry Christmas to all.
For me, being ready has been perfecting a limoncello cake recipe.
If anyone wants a recipe, post, or pm me.

Merry Christmas to all from our little valley.
Only thing is that this Christmas, it doesn't seem like the same as Christmas day the high is forecast at 70° and sunny!!

Here in SW MO they're saying a high of 75 degrees on Christmas, then a high of 30 degrees on Sunday. Mother Nature is definitely off her meds!
