Anyone shooting an1894 AE in 45 colt. How are they?
Re: 1894
Joe, I have one. It is the 20" carbine Trails End that I bought in 2001. It is a good shooter. I used it for SASS for a little while but there are better rifles for that.
I shot Hornady XTP 250 grain and H110 Ruger loads in for deer, and it works really well for that. Mine has a very generous chamber and brass swells pretty good
when shooting heavy loads. Also work the lever like you mean it to keep from short stroking it and getting a cartridge under the carrier. Ask me how I know!
Overall it is a keeper.

Re: 1894
I have one. It's a neat little Trapper 1894-1994 commemorative. it's been pretty good digesting 250gr cowboy loads up to 300gr BuffaloBore Hardcast.
I've taken several deer, an antelope and one cow elk with it.
I won't part with it.
Congratulations if you pick it up.
