Ole Duff-L-Bagg will be back in town sometime next week,
around july 3rd or so...and i would like to get together to
sling some lead down range and maybe go to the Orlando
gun show on the 5th or 6th...and maybe go out to lunch...

Rimfire McNutjob and Crawdaddyjim....sound off!

If you see a frontloader parked in the lot, you'll know Duff L Bagg and Rihmfire are there. They need it to get their collections of leverguns from the lot to the firing line.

I think he was talking about weekend after next ... July 4th long weekend. So if you get all of your chores done this weekend, you may be good for next. Maybe meet at the Orlando gun show or something. I know Daytona would be a haul for you to go shooting.

I did not. I may consider that one. I could go straight up 17 from Sanford, but the lights would kill me. I'm guessing I-4 to I-95 and over would be faster even though farther.

I'm 'OLD' and have a White 'Made in USA' Hat on ,
This is a new show, so maybe there will be something different...

Looked at the map, It's a goodly ride for you. Interstate shows 13 miles longer on delorme.

I'll look for ya, If I can remember the picture long enough....

There's a gunshow in Lakeland today as well. I was thinking of going with my son as he's looking for a new 870. I might get him to hold off till next weekend, or we could just got to both of them.

I could make the show but not the shoot.

OK plan revised... not going to Lakeland.

Can someone fill me in as to where the Orlando show is going to be? At the fairgrounds?

the 5th of july.
Its gonna be a busy weekend for me...
Boys in the hunt club want to go to the property that weekend also..
We may go up on Friday or Saturday...most likely friday

I worked last night. I've been in bed so far and am going back. Jr. is back in bed, he had to go to town for a Bible studay so I'm thinking today is out. Tomorrow after church is a possible.

Made it to the correct show, Palatka,

Not a bad show for a small town, Didn't buy any leverguns,
There was a 18xx Marlin, 14xx bucks.

Did pickup up 2 revolvers, 1 was 44 mag Ruger Super Blackhawk.
Never wanted a 44 mag, but couldn't pass on the price .
Besides , the wife gave me some spending money, didn't want to
give it back,,,

That is the proper way to handle it for sure.

I didn't make it to the Palatka show but I'm heading to our range to chronograph some loads today. Not sure how long I'll last in the heat or if it does the regular afternoon monsoon here. It's been like clockwork lately.

Well boys I made it home once again. I am looking forward to a range trip I have several new to me levers that need a trip to the range to see if they can hit pappier. I have a Marlin 1893 in 32-40, and 2 winchester 38-55's. I'm thinking early Saturday morning at the Strickland range. Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and maybe making some new friends.

At about 10:00 I have to meet a guy in the surrounding area to buy some reloading components from, then I'll be heading to the show.

Well..... we had a great time at the range....just shooting and BSing
Rimfire McNutjob brought out his winchester model 71 in both 348 and 450 alaskan..
All i have to say is ....ouch!

what a wallop that 450 has...
That gun has so much muzzle blast they wont have to cut the grass for a while.
Duff-L-Bagg brought out his new toys...2 38-55s and a sweet old marlin in 32-40
That marlin was dead on at 50. just a classic old lever gun from 1901 or so..
After shooting the 450....the 38-55s hardly had any recoil at all...one was a legacy
the other a centennial....very handsome rifles..
Crawdaddyjim brought out a marlin in 35 Rem......and a henry in .17.....
Had a little trouble with the Hornady .17 bullets backing into the case....
35 was also dead on too....He also brought his camera and will post some pics!
I brought out 357, 38-40, and 44 mag winchesters and 44-44 and 45LC uberti rifles..
Our groups were nothing to talk about....all on target but not tight
It was just nice to see the guys again and BS for a while....
Did a whole lot of talking and very little shoot'n

Sounds like you guys had a great time. Ya'll certainly had a good assortment of calibers. I fired a .450 once myself. I definitely prefer my 45colt.

I'll be up in Virginia on those dates, hiking the AT. Would be fun to meet up though, and exercise the lever guns a bit. I am not that far away, up in Gainesville.
I have a new to me 336 Texan SRC to try out, and a new Leupold scope on my 1894S that needs to be sighted in.

Mannlicher, We will most likely be back out at the range somewhere around the 9th of Aug (my next trip back to the house) and you will be most welcome to join us. We are always happy to meet folks from the forum. Come out and shoot some paper and the bull.

Had a great time. Will be uploading pics of everybody tonight. I have to go to a "house warming party" part of the payback I suppose. McNut's BB gun was an absolute blast! Seriously the nicest gun I have ever held. And Bill is a great guy to call a friend. I still aint sure how Duff keeps his weight up. Him spendin all his money on levers and all.

He can't be eatin regular. I think the man goes out with a empty trailer and brings it back full! Rihmfire put his purse down and shot that Alaskan like it was a .22. And no the bullet didn't go over the backstop. So you guys quit picking on him.

Yes it was HOT by 9am. Mr. Bragg is the nicest guy you'd ever meet. No he won't let you take his Turnbull home but he will let you caress it.

Duff didn't have much time for pictures as he had about 200 additions to his harem to try out. Me and Ronnie just stood there mostly. Ronnie did hit the target a lot more than me. I think I am going to the eye doctor soon. It was a great time except for the range nazi (letter sent). I tell you what. If I ever get more than two nickels to rub together I am purchasing enough land to have me a range!!!
