I have a shot at one. Very nice metal and wood. What can you tell me about these pistol gripped 1894s? Thanks. 1886.

Have one growing dust bunnies in the closet.Love the caliber and the rifle but it has issues.Marlin did not have great QC on these and quite a few people have had jamming but report that marlin does back the product-repairs ,tuning and so on.Mine was not an exception but I have seen that it is the OAL(over all lenght ) case lenght that seems to affect it.Some where I saw that these were set up for the Federal 210 grain load and those worked in mine along with 215 cast bullets. No problem with leading but I haven't pushed it either.Usually the jamming was a double feed or two for one where the second round blocked the carrier from rising jamming the gun.Light loads of unique make it like shooting a .22.One day I get off my biggest part and play with the rifle some more, get it tuned up but it will not be for sale I like the caliber that much.

Gary,

I had one for a few years. Outstanding rifle! I sold it while I was building the new house in an attack of the Dumb ***! Was a SUPER shooter.

Only thing I didn't like about it was the 20" barrel. Thought it was kinda heavy. I thought about having shortened to 16" several times but ended up selling it off.
