The past year with my leverguns
Today I was going thru my safe just to admire some of my levers and realized that the past year has been pretty darn good to me. I was actually able to buy more than I sold.

I will HAVE TO USE THAT LINE, though if I do too much, my wife might test the theory on me!AndyM wrote:good dealin' although you did let some nice guns go - I always tell me wife that my safe is alot like heaven - there is always room for one more

meanc, good trades, tho', as was said, you let a couple of nice ones go.
AndyM, that line would never work on my wife, ever the practical kraut, she knows how many I already have that don't fit!
Tho' another safe is on the discussion table... mostly, I'm beggin' and she's saying. NO!

griff, that seems to be the way most "discussions" go with spousal units.

Re: The past year with my leverguns
I did the same thing as far as getting rid of some safe queens (working guns from PD times and some hunting guns that weren't getting used) in return I got:
1894 Winchester take-down in 38-55 (circa1898)
1894 Winchester SRC in 38-55 (circa 1920)
1886 Winchester in 40-65 (circa 1896) this one I had relined, re color-cased and rust blued
Uberti 1873 replica short rifle in 45 Colt to go with my 24 and 30 models.
wish
i could say i only spent $100 or so more but sadly I can't, although I feel I got really good deals on all of them.....My taste have changed over the last 3 or 4 years.
Also picked up 5 1/2" SAA Colt in box to match one I already had and a NIB Bushmaster shorty

Re: The past year with my leverguns
I agree, the 3 that left were very nice. That was part of the problem with them. I had shooters in the same calibers and length so the safe queens were just taking up valuable retail space in the safe. And with rumors of a possible return of the Win94, I figured I better get what I could out of them. Besides, they all had the cross bolt safeties.

Re: The past year with my leverguns
I sold 3 and bought 4, but one of them was a Trapdoor, so the lever is a bit small on the hatch. My emphasis has switched from acquiring more leverguns to shooting the ones I have. I'm pretty happy with what I got (which is 9 leverguns and 1 Trapdoor). Now I just got to shoot them. I usually get to the range at least once per week. My 30-30 has been the main gun I've been shooting, but I figure I got a good load for that one right now, so will be taking other guns to the range over the next few weeks.
