Stupid snowflake crybabies - part II

Post by Ysabel Kid »

Okay, Amazon is really on "my list" now. The company you love to hate and hate to love.

My industry (chemicals) has been going through the worst Force Majeure incident I have seen in my 33 years due to the ice storm and deep freeze in Texas in February. Nothing but 12+ hour days, every day and part of the weekends, for the last 6 weeks. I decided I needed something to help relax me. So I put together a playlist of my favorite soundtracks to play in the background while I was working. Here are some of them:

"The Last of the Mohicans"
"Braveheart"
"Dances with Wolves"
"Quigley Down Under"
"The Last Samurai"

I have the CD's for all of these but bought the music downloads over the years to be able to listen to these when traveling. I went to add one more of my favorite soundtracks, the one from "Gettysburg". This used to be available for free on Amazon Music, but they pulled it. So I went to buy it. Fortunately I looked at the tracks before doings so - and realized they weren't the same.

I was specifically looking for track 12 - "Dixie". It is simply a beautiful rendition of the music. Nope, wasn't there.

I think they pulled this because, well, heaven-forbid someone hear "Dixie" played!

BTW, I compare the soundtrack version of "Dixie" with Boge Quinn's version of the "Battle Cry of Freedom" - both simply beautiful and moving!

The governor of arkansas was scheduled to be the key-note speaker. There was a set of elderly spinster identical twin sisters in the audience. Applause erupted when the future 42nd p.o.t.us. appeared from back stage.

Myrtle says to Gertrude, "what are you doing just sitting there ? Get up its bill clinton !" Gertrude just kept her seat with a glaring frown and a look of derision.

After the governor's speech and the other events to follow, a lively orchestral version of "Dixie" was piped in over the p.a. system. Gertrude says to Myrtle, "what are you doing just sitting there ? Get up they're playing Dixie !"

I was watching Dances with Wolves on TV the other day and noticed a few scenes were cut.....when I think of what my parents saw for REAL in WW2 I guess there hasn't been a movie made that would cause them to faint.

This silent editing is really bad. At some point, there won't be anything worth watching.
